Klong Khong

A long, relaxed beach with a distinctly local atmosphere, lined with beach bars, massage places, and casual restaurants. Swimming is best at high tide when the water covers the reef; at low tide the rocky bottom is exposed and you can walk far out. Shells and sea glass wash up in abundance. Sunsets here are reliably lovely, and the evening vibe with bar lights and the sound of waves is easy to linger in. Less crowded than the beaches further north, with a mix of budget guesthouses and relaxed resorts set back from the shore.
