About The Lanta Guide

By locals, for everyone.

Koh Lanta has too many outdated guides. Opening hours that are years old, places that have closed, restaurants with the wrong address — we got tired of it. The Lanta Guide exists because we wanted one source that was actually kept up to date.

We are a small group of expats and local Thais who live on Koh Lanta and work on this guide in our spare time. We visit places, verify information, add new listings and remove ones that have closed. We do our best to keep everything accurate, but the island changes fast — if you spot something wrong, please let us know.

There are no sponsored listings and no pay-to-rank placements. If a place is listed, it is because we think it is worth knowing about. We welcome contributions from anyone.

The Lanta Guide is owned and operated by Revive Lanta Co., Ltd., registered in Thailand.

Content licence

All original text, place descriptions, opening hours, and factual data on The Lanta Guide are dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0 Universal.

This means you can copy, modify, distribute and use the data for any purpose — commercial or otherwise — without asking permission and without any obligation to credit us. No strings attached.

Photos are excluded. See the photo section below.

Open API

All place data, guides, news, and weather are available as a free JSON API. No key, no login, no rate limits.

You can use it to build apps, embed listings, do research, or do anything else you like. The data is CC0 so there are no licence restrictions either.
