Phuket Orders Safety Inspections at Venues Across the Island
A deadly fire at a Bangkok entertainment venue has prompted Phuket's governor to launch an island-wide safety crackdown, ordering inspections at hotels, restaurants, clubs, and other public spaces across all 19 of the province's local administrative areas.

On the night of 12 July 2026, a fire broke out at a restaurant and entertainment venue on Soi Lat Phrao 1 in Bangkok, killing at least 27 people.
